About Breno
Breno Duarte, MA
He is a young italian historian, he was born in Brazil in 1988. In 2001, he moved to Italy where, in the first few months, he learned Italian reading Harry Potter. Since childhood he has always had two passions: history and books. A regular visitor of libraries and book shops, he grew up in a small community near to Turin. He continued to study until he obtained two degrees, one BA in 2012 about the early years of Christianity and one MA in 2015 on the impact of World War I on the British Empire – both with honours.
His master thesis “From the Great Game to the Great War”, a work which took almost 3 years of research around Europe, has been awarded in 2016 as the best thesis for the 2014/2015 Academic Year in the History Department of the University of Turin.
He is now a historian and a writer living in York, Great Britain. He mainly deals with Modern and Contemporary History. His main areas of research are the diplomatic, political and economic aspects of the Great War and the British Empire.
In May 2017 he published his first book, his master thesis, “Dal Grande Gioco alla Grande Guerra” in Italian, the English version is due to be published in October 2017. In the same month he manage to launched this website, his own virtual space, where he will be able to post new article, reviews about books and informations about his own books.
He is currently living in Leeds, and writing another book about the Holocaust and Holocaust deniers.
